Returning Home: Culture Shock

My parents surprised me when I landed and took me to dinner at my favorite restaurant: The Cheesecake Factory! They didn't have it in England. It feels great to be home, yet a little confusing. One of the first differences I noticed when I got home was the traffic. I had gotten so used to hopping on a train or bus that I felt so impatient waiting in traffic on the highway.

All in all, my study abroad trip was the experience of a lifetime and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I learned so much about England, the culture, and myself along the way. I broadened my taste in music, food, and film and made friends I hope to keep forever. The experience was worth the stress of the application process and the anxiety I felt when I first had to leave my home and my family. Studying abroad is something I would recommend to anyone who has the opportunity, even if it's just a short trip!
