Swiss Air Lines celebrates new nonstop flight from DC to Zurich with ticket giveaway

Swiss International Air Lines is celebrating the launch of its new nonstop service from Washington D.C. to Zurich, Switzerland with a ticket giveaway this April. Airline executives gathered at Dulles International Airport on March 28 for a ribbon cutting and the inaugural flight on an Airbus A330-300.

"Swiss announced this route four years ago [before the pandemic], and we are grateful that they came through with the great leadership of their CEO. This new flight will generate over $50 million in local economic impact each year," said Vice President for Airline Business Development Paul Bobson.

Swiss is the 41st airline to serve Dulles travelers. The airline will provide 13 flights each week between IAD and ZRH. The nonstop flight is about 9 hours and 30 minutes.

"It's a pleasure for us to stand here today four years after the announcement and to be proud to begin this new route. Our development of an airline doesn't stop by just adding capacity. We are investing around $5 billion in equipment in new aircraft, new seats, investing in our employees and investing in the customer." said Swiss Air Lines CEO Dieter Vranckx.

In collaboration with Breitling, Swiss also unveiled the Breitling Navitimer B01 SWISS Limited Edition timepiece. Breitling has served as the official timekeeper for Swiss Air Lines since 2016. The luxury watch brand introduced the original pilot’s watch, the Navitimer, in 1952.

Travelers can visit the Breitling Boutique at Tysons Galleria through April 22, 2024, to enter for a chance to win round-trip tickets for two from D.C. to Zurich on Swiss Air Lines along with exclusive prizes from Breitling.
